Just back from Peru after shooting for 'Endhiran' with Rajini, Aishwarya Rai participated in the premiere of husband Abhishek Bachchan's film 'Drona.'

Everyone is eager to know about Aish's experiences of acting with Rajini. Talking to a private TV channel, the former world beauty was all praises for Rajini.

"Rajini is a family friend. We all have a great deal of respect for him. His simplicity when shooting for 'Endhiran' has me in awe. It is difficult to find a modest person like Rajini in this ostentatious film world. He does not put on the airs of a super star and moves freely with everyone. He seems an amazing man to me.

Only the first schedule shooting of 'Endhiran' has been completed. As shooting progresses, I'm sure to learn more about him," gushed Aishwarya Rai.

She also said that she accepted to act in the film because she liked the story.

Kalabhavan Mani in 'Endhiran'

The second schedule of 'Endhiran' shooting is taking place at Goa.

Despite shooting at Peru amidst tight security, photos made their way into the media following which Shankar fired 3 assistants. Goa is within India and how Shankar is going to prevent stills from leaking out to the press is a big question.

Security has been tightened as well as measures taken to see that cell phone pics are not taken. VMC Hanifa and Kalabhavan Mani will also shoot with Rajini. It's said Rajini and Aishwarya Rai scenes are also to be shot here.

A separate security force is being arranged to control fan crowds.

Music is by A R Rehman and cinematography by Rathnavelu. He wields the camera for the first time for a Shankar film.

Will Rajinikanth enter politics?

After painting Coimbatore red with wall-posters heralding the entry of actor Rajinikanth into politics, his fans in Kovai on Monday launched a political party in an attempt 'to put pressure' on the 'Superstar' to take the political plunge.

Announcing the party's name as Desiya Dravidar Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (DDMMK), they also released the party flag in red, white and black - featuring Rajini's face inside a shining star.

About the new outfit and flag, Rajni Babu, who is a councillor in Madukkarai says that the party had been launched only to impose pressure on their hero to foray politics. We have made this flag and outfit to represent ourselves in the world of politics and wish our leader to make his announcement soon.

Sources close to the actor said, "Rajini was scheduled to discuss the issue of entering politics and starting a party with his fans from 12th to 18th October."

The meeting will take place amid expectations by his fans that he will follow the footsteps of Chiranjeevi, says one of his close friends.

Aishwarya rai admires Rajini

Aishwarya Rai, who is working with Rajinikanth for 'Endhiran' can't stop gushing about the actor.

'It was great working with Rajinikanth, who is a brilliant actor. The only tough thing about the movie was studying Tamil again in order to pronounce the words properly,' she said.

'Robot' directed by Shankar brings together Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai for the first time. A couple of song sequences were shot recently in Peru.

Says Aishwarya," Shankar had approached me previously to work with him, but could not be materialized. Finally, everything landed in place and here we are together after ten years." 

Other than this, the actress will soon start acting for Mani Ratnam's 'Ravana' with her husband Abhishek Bachchan.

"I don't want to reveal much about it but in another 10 days, we will start shooting for the movie. I am looking forward to working again with Mani," she added in an interview to a news agency.

'Endhiran' goes to Goa

Close on the heels of completing a song sequence in Peru and USA, the 'Endhiran' crew including Rajinikanth, Aishwarya Rai and director Shankar would go to Goa in the first week of October to shoot for a song and some important stunt sequences.

'Endhiran', a sci-fi film, produced by Ayngaran Internationals and directed by Shankar, started filming last month abroad. The crew returned back last week. Meanwhile, the latest buzz doing rounds is that they would start shooting scenes in Goa.

It may be recalled that Rajinikanth was supposed to meet the office-bearers of his welfare association on 3 October to chalk out his future strategy following a dip in his popularity as predicted by a survey report. It is now being reported that this meet has been postponed to the second week of October once the crew returns from Goa.

Rajini convenes his fans on Oct 3rd

Rumours are doing rounds that Rajinikanth would hold special one-to-one meetings with office bearers of his fans welfare association at his Raghavendra Kalayana mandapam in Kodambakkam.

Ever since his return from USA, a spate of speculations is being on the move about his foray in to politics.

Fans even surged to the house of Sathyanarayana, President of All India Rajnikanth fans Association, in Chennai on Monday.

A recent survey by a private college said that Rajinikanth's popularity is decreasing in Tamilnadu. Speculations are rife that Rajinikanth would chalk out a future strategy to reclaim his lost popularity.

The fans are mentioning high hopes on Rajinikanth to enter politics. Meanwhile, a section of Rajinikanth's associates are confident that he would start a voluntary organization to serve the poor and the needy or would roll out a television channel at least.

Director Shankar dismisses assistants

After the hectic shooting schedule, the Endhiran team is returning to India. In fact the superstar Rajinikanth had already reached Chennai on 27th September while Aishwarya Rai is expected to join her hubby Abhishek Bachchan right on time for Drona's premiere. Industry sources have it that director Shankar completed the first leg of shooting to accommodate Ash's request to be with Abhi to attend Drona's premiere.

Meanwhile, Shankar has dismissed three of his assistants for leaking the well-guarded Endhiran stills to the media. He has also appointed a nine-member crew to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.

Endhiran Rajini returns to Chennai

After filming a song for Endhiran in Machu Picchu, Peru with Aishwarya Rai, Rajinikanth has returned to Chennai; the filming began on September 8th. It is heard that Rajinikanth will organize a meeting with his fan club members in the first week of October.

Meanwhile, Aishwarya Rai and the Endhiran film crew are working overtime to complete the scenes involving her; Aishwarya Rai needs to get back to Mumbai tomorrow to be able to attend the premiere of Dhrona, which stars her husband Abhishek Bachchan and she had requested director Shankar to help her in this regard. Following her request, Shankar made some alterations in the first schedule and expedited the filming process to ensure that Aishwarya Rai returns to Mumbai tomorrow morning. Now, she will have to fight jet lag and participate in Dhrona's premiere to cheer and encourage her husband.

Aishwarya Rai accepted Rajinikanth and ace director Shankar's offer in Endhiran. And a pleased Shankar is at his empathetic best for Aishwarya rai, making sure all her requests are granted and she goes home smiling.

Vijay overtakes Rajini

Now and then Lloyola College conducts opinion polls. This time, the results are quite interesting. Late actors are more favored when compared to present day actors. With regard to actresses also, olden day heroines eclipse the new breed.

Among actors, MGR takes top spot as usual with 21.3 % of votes. His film 'Nadodi Mannan' emerged a favorite. In second spot is Sivaji with 18.9 % votes and his best film was 'Paasa Malar.'

For the first time, Vijay has overtaken Rajini. Vijay got 16.4 & votes and Rajini got 16.2. Vijay's 'Gilli' and Rajini's 'Basha' were voted their best. Vijayakanth gets the fifth spot with 'Captain Prabakaran' as his best film.

Among actresses, Saroja Devi gets top spot followed by Jayalalitha and KR Vijaya. Today's actresses come only after these top 3 yesteryear actresses. Jyotika is in 4th place, and Khushboo in 5th place.

Endhiran Rajini and Aishwarya rai Duet Songs

Director Shankar's magnum opus, Endhiran, formerly called Robot, has been in the news ever since its announcement. The unit has flown to the Americas for the first schedule of shooting.

Pulling out all stops to make this a great movie, Aishwarya Rai has been taken as the heroine for a remuneration of Rs. 6 crores! For this breathtaking sum, (a figure which even most South Indian heroes are yet to achieve) the green-eyed beauty's call-sheet has been commandeered for almost a year, 200 days to be precise. A song was canned in the location featuring the lead pairs, dressed up in disparate outfits. Aishwarya Rai busy shooting

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and hubby Abhishek Bachchan will team up for Mani Ratnam's magnum opus Raavan, which is tipped to draw inspiration from the epic Ramayana. Aishwarya rai will be in time to start off with Raavan after completing her commitment with Rajini starrer Endhiran – The Robot.
According to a Mumbai based leading daily, the actress will start her classical singing lessons from a noted guru soon after her return from Peru. It is said that her character in Raavan demands that she learn classical singing and get the mannerisms of the classical singers in the right fashion. Though Ash is good at singing, Mani Ratnam had insisted on a special training in classical singing.

Rajini in Pyramid Saimira film

Rajini has signed a film to be produced by Pyramid Saimira and to be directed by Murugadoss. Rajini has agreed to do this film in order to make up the losses incurred in Kuselan. Rajni is also to do a guest role in the upcoming film of Murugadoss. The crew of 'Endhiran' is in the United States. With Rajni and Aishwarya Rai in the lead and a big band of technical experts from Hollywood chipping in to give the film its sci-fi touch, there is already a lot of hype about 'Endhiran.'

Currently two song sequences featuring Rajni and Aishwarya Rai is being extensively shot in the beautiful locales of Argentina.

Endhiran the Robot - Man Vs Machine

The film is about a scientist, played by Rajini who lives about 200 years in the future. He is passionate about making robots that have the ability to rationalize things. Designed to help humanity the robots are themselves like humans with many emotions. One such robot (played by Rajini again) is tampered upon by people of evil intent. And so this robot lives a life of its own putting humanity at risk.

To boot to the mayhem this robot even falls in love with the scientist's girlfriend (played by Aishwarya Rai).

The film is expected to be released in the summer of 2010. The story does sound interesting, but then we'll have to wait and see if the balance between modernity and traditional human emotions exists.

Technical details are being worked out right now. Since the story was written by Sujatha a long time ago, the filmmakers have decided to add in the necessary updates. A team of about 250 people have been assigned the responsibility of researching these updates.

Endhiran first song completed

Endhiran- The Robot, took place in Peru and Brazil.

Shankar had issued a press release prior to leaving Chennai saying he is shooting the film in USA, and conveniently forgot to mention the Peru and Brazil part of their itenary!

In fact, as per our sources the shoot of the first song in Peru and Brazil is over. The song had Rajini's graceful movements, as he danced with Aishwarya rai and the buzz is that he even did a Spanish salsa dance movement under choreographer Raju Sundaram.

After shooting the first song, Shankar is likely to fly to Hawai to shoot the second song for the film.

Endhiran Rajini chases Aishwarya rai

The minute a Rajini film pooja takes place, all sorts of story lines make their way into the press. Now that shooting for 'Endhiran' has started, one hears many a tale.

In 'Endhiran,' Rajini has a dual role. The story starts from the year 2020. Rajini is a famous scientist. His love interest is Aishwarya Rai. Rajini is given the responsibility of making robots that do men's work. With good intentions, Rajini evolves a robot. (It seems the robot is also played by Rajini)

To spoil Rajini's fame for having constructed the robot, the villain's men abduct it. When Rajini tries to retrieve it, he gets into another tangle.

The robot Rajini also starts to fall in love with Aishwarya Rai. Besotted by her, the robot Rajini starts to chase Aish. Using this to his advantage, the scientist Rajini, who induced the love craze of the robot, manages to bring the robot back under his control.

Sultan the warrior - Songs status

Super Star Rajinikanth animated movie "Sultan the Warrior" music director had given two songs for the movie till now. A R Rahman is known for giving good numbers  of music and he is equally known for composing music at delayed times. Rajini signs his next after ‘Endhiran’

Kuselan, inspite of being appreciated by a certain section of media and movie going public, couldn't garner the profits one usually associates with Superstar Rajinikanth's movie.

Perhaps Pyramid Saimira would be the only producer in recent times to have not made profits out a Rajinikanth starrer. Taking this into consideration, the actor is said to have promised the production company yet another movie. A credible Kollywood source reveals that a contract might also have been signed to this effect. Usually in such cases it's a verbal agreement between the concerned parties.

The earlier plan was to have the project started by January and release it even before Robot. But now the production house has settled for the idea of starting the movie after the completion of Robot. Director or the rest of the crew is yet to be decided. One of the frontrunners among directors would be Murugadoss, who has been in news recently over Rajinikanth supposedly making a guest role in his next movie. The director however issued a statement rejecting the news.

Meanwhile, there are whispers around the tinsel town that Rajini might do a full fledged movie for daughter Soundarya's production house Ocher Studios after the 3D animated movie Sultan. Rajini fans want before October 08

Almost 12 officials of Rajini's fan club went to Rajini's house, demanding that they want to see their hero!

Rajini enquired the reason through his assistant Sathyanarayana about their visit.  It was told that they came to Chennai with only one demand that they want their hero to float a political party!  Their contention is that fans of Vijayakanth and Sarathkumar are enjoying the power of politics, but they are not able to taste the power!

Rajini asked them to cool down, but the 12 member team was not ready for any compromise.  They want a political party before Oct '08.

Rajini asked them to go back to their home and has promised them that he will discuss with them by October.

Ashwarya rai gets 6 crores?

The Kollywood grapevine says that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has been paid Rs. 6 crores for her role in Endhiran. If that is true, she becomes India's highest paid actress.

But it is to be noted that Aishwarya Rai agreed to work in Endhiran out of the respect she has for Rajni. Forced by busy schedules to turn down a role opposite Rajni thrice before, Aishwarya deemed it would be unrespectable and inappropriate to deny the stalwart's offer anymore. That is the main reason she signed Endhiran even after her call sheet overflowed with dates allocated to Mani Ratnam's bilingual. Thus it is of little surprise that the producers of Endhiran, Ayngaran International and Eros International, are willing to pay the actress such a hefty price. Happy with Aishwarya's commitment, director Shankar even decided to give her a break when Mani Ratnam's film shoot starts.

At present, a song is being filmed on Aishwarya Rai and Rajinikanth for Endhiran in Machu Picchu, an ancient temple site erected by Inca Indians in Peru. It is also said that this song will be a highlight of this film.

Meanwhile, the public's curiosity is stoked up by the promos of Endhiran. Most of the walls in the city are covered byposters depicting a robot modelled after the superstar. Everyone is thrilled to see this metallic version of their beloved star.

Endhiran Rajini dual role?

Endhiran news has started pouring out and first of its series is about Rajini and his role in the movie.

Rajini will be doing a dual role, one will be wearing the stylish dress and doing all his regular styles.  The other will be Robo Rajini and that too will do a lots of style and entertain his fans.

Every year, the Chennai Cine Fans' Club, headed by former judge Jagadeesan, selects the best film actors and technicians and recognizes their good work by conferring this award. Enthiram (Robot) shooting in Peru

Enthiram (formerly Robot), the epic production by Ayngaran International and Eros International, starring Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai, will begin filming on September 8th. A song will be filmed in the beautiful and picturesque locale of Machu Picchu in Peru, which is a South American nation. This is the first time an Indian film will be shot in this ancient site built by the Incas around 1460, which is also recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Take a look at the picture of Machu Picchu provided at the top left corner of this write-up. It could be described by a paradoxical phrase – beautiful ruins! Ace director Shankar will direct Rajinikanth for the second time in this film after Sivaji.

One look at the technicians' list of Enthiram will leave anyone agape as it comprises the names of the most elite of Hollywood. The following paragraphs will give you an idea about these elite technicians who are entering the Indian film world for the first time through Enthiram, and their roles in this film.

Rajini & Aish to go to Brazil

This week, shooting for 'Robot' will take place at the South American country of Brazil .
After umpteen rumours surrounding the film, 'Robot' shooting is finally commencing shortly. In the beautiful landscape of Brazil , Shankar has decided to shoot a Rajini-Aishwarya duet. So, the lead pair, Shankar, cameraman Rathnavelu will all leave soon for Brazil .
While this is happening on one hand, Shahrukh Khan has registered 9 names with 'Robot' in Mumbai's Motion Picture Association, like 'Robot,' 'Robot My Hero,' 'Mera Robot' etc.
Shankar had first narrated the story to Shahrukh Khan, who liked the story and agreed that his Red Chillies company would produce the film. But ensuing discussions created differences of opinion and Shahrukh pulled out of the project.
More than anyone else, Shahrukh is well aware that Shankar plans 'Robot' in 3 languages. Even his close associates are shocked that despite knowing this, Shahrukh has gone ahead and registered the title of 'Robot.'

P.Vasu into very bad time

For how much did P.Vasu publicize about Kuselan before its release, so much he is suffering after the film got flunked down.

First, it was Rajnikanth fans who agitated against him for not utilizing their star properly, then it was theatre owners and distributors and now barbers.

P.Vasu had depicted Vadivelu as a barber who kidnaps the people, shaves their head and beard and run his business. Barbers of real life felt that it was hurting their feeling and they decided to hold a protest against.

As planned, many barbers held the protest right in front of the house of Director P.Vasu.

Police officials rushed to the spot and arrested around 250 barbers and kept them locked in a marriage hall.

Hyderabad Film City is busy now

Like the best shooting spots in Chennai like AVM Studios, Binny Mills and more, Kollywood stars have started opting for Hyderabad Film City. Looks like they are more bounded with sentiments and that's the reason behind fleeting to Hyderabad. Superstar Rajnikanth is busy now shooting for both Robot and Sultan-The Warrior. Most part of the animation film Sultan directed by his daughter Soudnarya Rajnikanth is being shot at Hyderabad Film City. More particular about imitating the gestures of his father-in-law, Dhanush too has opted for the same place. At the moment, he is shooting for his film 'Padikaadhavan' at the same place.
Meanwhile, Arjun starrer Durai had recently completed its shooting over there while the film unit of Karthigai is still busy working there. Couple of other Tamil films is also being shot there now.

Ashok Raj happens to be the childhood friend of Balan and soon this news is spread all throughout the entire village. Now, everyone in the village are ready to do anything for Balan and all that they want from him is to introduce them all to Ashok Raj. However, Balan is reluctant to meet his childhood friend thinking whether Ashok Raj would remember him. We are sure that last 20mins of the film is sure to fill your eyes with tears as Superstar Rajnikanth cries out speaking about his friend. Perhaps, his naturalistic performance is so revealing of his real life character of how he adores his friends. Meena has the same performance as it was in the original version of Katha Parayumpol and women audiences would surely love her role as well that of kids. But in contrast, Nayantara doesn't utter even single dialogue in the film and P.Vasu has roped her in just to shake her legs with Rajnikanth and for glamour quotient. Vadivelu dominates the screen with his rib-trickling comedy tracks. Especially, his performance as a surprised person on meeting Superstar wins him applause. Prabhu appearing as a police officer is nothing but an irrelevant character. The entire film is carried with lots of fun, frolic and emotions, but for some it may be dragging till Superstar appears on the screen with the song 'Cinema Cinema'. Well, the song has lots to cheer about the way Rajnikanth appears and its tribute to 75yrs of Tamil Cinema is a nice one. G.V.Prakash does a good job adding more life to the screen with his background score. His musical score the melody, 'Sollu Sollu' carries us along with the tune. Perhaps, Aravind Krishna's cinematography makes the film look more enriched. His depiction of the parts involving Rajni and Pasupathy is really a great job. Kuselan music Review

Starring Rajinikanth, Nayanthara and Meena, with a host of regional actors, this bilingual (in Tamil and Telugu) blockbuster is adapted from the Malayalam movie Kadha Parayumbol. In his own inimitable style, Rajini essays the guest role Mammootty made famous in the recent Malayalam hit. And Rajini being Rajini, has more than a cameo role here. The audio rights were bagged by Big Music for a never-heard of-before 2.25 crores. This seems to have raised a lot of expectations among listeners. The soundtrack was released in a glittering function on 30th June. A live performance of the songs is also being planned by Big Music. Two numbers from the album sing Rajini's praise unreservedly, and also list his movies. Another touchingly commemorates the 75th anniversary of Tamil Cinema itself, in Vaali's lyrics! G.V.Prakash, the composer, shows good promise. Cinema, Cinema Vocals: Shankar Mahadevan & chorus, Lyrics: Vaali A majestic instrumental opening: Speaks of the way cinema gives form and shape to long forgotten names and figures ,like Karnan, Kattabomman etc; (why, even God, for that matter) and enriches our imagination. Vaali fondly recalls the employment generated for scores of people by way of group dancing and extras. And the kind of co operation that goes into bringing out a movie. The song also happily revels in the fame achieved by the Superstar, cutting across all layers of society! 'Super staarum sooriyanum dhaan ulagam suttri' is an impish line, truly! Seems to be based on Natabhairavi scale with the phrase' paa saa nee dha' employed attractively. Violins are very pleasingly used. A fitting tribute to the industry in Shankar Mahadevan's passionate voice. Strong rhythms seem to cut into the smooth flow of the lyric.

Kuselan Songs audio CD's and cassettes will officially hit the market on July 1st. The audio launch function of superstar starrer Kuselan is said to be one day before on June 30th. The first lot of one lakh CDs and 25 thousands Cassettes reached Chennai city from Mumbai yesterday. The distribution of CDs to all the retailers will start tomorrow. Reliance Entertainment group's Big Music got the audio rights for a record amount of Rs.2.25 crores. Jointly produced by Kavithalaya and Seven Arts in Tamil, the complete shooting of the movie has been completed by Vasu within 82 days. Nayantara is on a song, as she is there in all the scenes featuring Rajinikanth in P.Vasu directed Kuselan. Now as a bonus comes in a solo song being picturised on Nayan for the film at Ramoji Rao studio by director Vasu. The buzz is that this song is a nice feel-good number shot on Nayan and lot of kids. Remember that in the original Malayalam film on which Kuselan is based, the character of Nayanthara comes in just one duet with the superstar. In the Tamil version, Nayan's character has been created by Vasu to add glamour and glitz to the film. Vasu is a smart guy who knows how to package a Rajinikanth film for the masses. Actor J D Chakravarthy - Robot villain

J D Chakravarthy, Ram Gopal Varma's Sathya hero is on a roll in Kollywood. Coming out of hibernation, JD, as he is better known, has signed on the dotted line to do Vishnuvardhan's Sarwam as the villain. Shankar saw JD's rushes in the film and immediately signed him up to do Robot, again as the villain opposite Rajinikanth. JD is thrilled to play villain in the film, because he will be getting international exposure simply by sharing screen space with the superstar. It's also a well known fact that the villains in Rajinikanth's films always get decent footage, so that the superstar is able to triumph in the end and establish his "heroism". Both Sarvam and Robot are being produced by Ayagaran films. Sources say that Rajini liked JD's earlier work and Shankar was also happy to get bulk dates from the villain!

Kamal, Ajith, Vijay, Vikram in Rajini’s Kuselan

Om Shanthi Om, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, which was last year's biggest Bollywood block-buster, featured a song in which 31 major Hindi film stars came together to shake a leg with SRK. And now taking a lead from the film, Kollywood director P.Vasu, who is known to have tremendous goodwill in this industry, plans to rope in major stars for his forthcoming film kuseylan, which stars Rajinikanth. In OSO, the song is based on the situation where SRK's character (an actor) wins an award and throws a party, which is attended by all major stars. As Vasu's film is also about an who rises to 'super' stardom, he plans to approach stars like Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Ajith, Vikram, and Trisha for a special song in the Tamil version of the film. Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Balakrishna and others are being approached for the Telugu version of this song. K.Balachandar (kuseylan's Producer) is regarded as a mentor for both Rajinikanth as well as Kamal Haasan. Sources said that as P.Vasu is close to both, Kamal would approve his role without hesitation. When contacted by media, Vasu agree that there was a plan to come up with a special song, but said it was in its primitive stages. "Once things are confirmed, we would make an announcement," he said.

After naming his movies 'Polladhavan' and 'Padikadhavan' and acting in the remix of Ennama Kannu Sowkyama in 'Thiruvilayadal Arambam', the actor now says that he would like to remake 'Netrikkan'.
