Hyderabad Film City is busy now

Like the best shooting spots in Chennai like AVM Studios, Binny Mills and more, Kollywood stars have started opting for Hyderabad Film City. Looks like they are more bounded with sentiments and that's the reason behind fleeting to Hyderabad. Superstar Rajnikanth is busy now shooting for both Robot and Sultan-The Warrior. Most part of the animation film Sultan directed by his daughter Soudnarya Rajnikanth is being shot at Hyderabad Film City. More particular about imitating the gestures of his father-in-law, Dhanush too has opted for the same place. At the moment, he is shooting for his film 'Padikaadhavan' at the same place.
Meanwhile, Arjun starrer Durai had recently completed its shooting over there while the film unit of Karthigai is still busy working there. Couple of other Tamil films is also being shot there now.

Kuselan, the Rajini starrer, has been making news from the day the movie was announced. And it is making the biggest news ever as it nears completion: Rajinikanth, Vijay will be seen together in a song in this film. Yes! It is incredible but true! The film stars Rajinikanth, Nayantara, Meena, Pasupathi and Vadivelu.The filiming is almost complete now except for one song which celebrates the completion of 75 years of Tamil Cinema. The makers of Kuselan have decided to make this song incredibly grand. That is the reason they have decided to rope in all the frontline actors of Kollywood. The song begins with the words 'Cinema…cinema…MGR, Sivaji, NTR….ivargal irundha cinema…..inimale idhu pol varuma'. P. Vasu, the director of Kuselan, said that the audio of Kuselan will be released worldwide on June 30, 2008.The music of this film is by G.V. Prakash. The film will be released in July.

Marvelous! Wordless! It's so surprising to see that Director Vasu has churned out a best movie in his entire career. And the most exhilarating aspect here is that Superstar Rajnikanth appearing in an embodiment. Getting through his career with flicks that has lots of heroisms, punch dialogues and action stunts, Rajnikanth proves of his ability in performing a role that he hasn't donned earlier. Performing the role of superstar himself may be something new to all of us, because we happen to see the life of Rajnikanth behind the screens. Enigma of his Himalayan visits, his idea about entering into politics and the most evoking question of why great actors like him and Kamal Haasan show off more with lay persons? Rajnikanth has his precise answers to each and every questions and that's something more convincing for his fans. Let's take a look at synopsis of this movie… The film centers on Barber Balan (Pasupathy) in a village leading a dilapidated life with his wife Sreedevi (Meena) and three school -going kids. Balan owns a barber shop that is hardly visited by anyone. Added to this problematic situation, his business turns out to be more pathetic when his competitor Shamugham (Vadivelu) opens a new hair styling Salon that has modern accessories. Despites his poor condition, Balan never gives up his dignity. Unable to meet everyday's needs, his entire family suffers a lot with the children getting thrown out of school for not paying fees. It is now, a film crew arrives in the town for a shooting and hero of the film is none other than Superstar Ashok Raj (Rajnikanth). Ashok Raj happens to be the childhood friend of Balan and soon this news is spread all throughout the entire village. Now, everyone in the village are ready to do anything for Balan and all that they want from him is to introduce them all to Ashok Raj. However, Balan is reluctant to meet his childhood friend thinking whether Ashok Raj would remember him. We are sure that last 20mins of the film is sure to fill your eyes with tears as Superstar Rajnikanth cries out speaking about his friend. Perhaps, his naturalistic performance is so revealing of his real life character of how he adores his friends. Meena has the same performance as it was in the original version of Katha Parayumpol and women audiences would surely love her role as well that of kids. But in contrast, Nayantara doesn't utter even single dialogue in the film and P.Vasu has roped her in just to shake her legs with Rajnikanth and for glamour quotient. Vadivelu dominates the screen with his rib-trickling comedy tracks. Especially, his performance as a surprised person on meeting Superstar wins him applause. Prabhu appearing as a police officer is nothing but an irrelevant character. The entire film is carried with lots of fun, frolic and emotions, but for some it may be dragging till Superstar appears on the screen with the song 'Cinema Cinema'. Well, the song has lots to cheer about the way Rajnikanth appears and its tribute to 75yrs of Tamil Cinema is a nice one. G.V.Prakash does a good job adding more life to the screen with his background score. His musical score the melody, 'Sollu Sollu' carries us along with the tune. Perhaps, Aravind Krishna's cinematography makes the film look more enriched. His depiction of the parts involving Rajni and Pasupathy is really a great job. Nayantara upset with Rajini’s move

Nayantara, who is the leader and example for other girls in minting money through private parties, is now into trouble, because Rajini's angry eyes are burning her. Rajini praised Nayantara about her curves and inturn Nayantara said, Rajini has more energy than any other male in this world. Kuselan music Review

Starring Rajinikanth, Nayanthara and Meena, with a host of regional actors, this bilingual (in Tamil and Telugu) blockbuster is adapted from the Malayalam movie Kadha Parayumbol. In his own inimitable style, Rajini essays the guest role Mammootty made famous in the recent Malayalam hit. And Rajini being Rajini, has more than a cameo role here. The audio rights were bagged by Big Music for a never-heard of-before 2.25 crores. This seems to have raised a lot of expectations among listeners. The soundtrack was released in a glittering function on 30th June. A live performance of the songs is also being planned by Big Music. Two numbers from the album sing Rajini's praise unreservedly, and also list his movies. Another touchingly commemorates the 75th anniversary of Tamil Cinema itself, in Vaali's lyrics! G.V.Prakash, the composer, shows good promise. Cinema, Cinema Vocals: Shankar Mahadevan & chorus, Lyrics: Vaali A majestic instrumental opening: Speaks of the way cinema gives form and shape to long forgotten names and figures ,like Karnan, Kattabomman etc; (why, even God, for that matter) and enriches our imagination. Vaali fondly recalls the employment generated for scores of people by way of group dancing and extras. And the kind of co operation that goes into bringing out a movie. The song also happily revels in the fame achieved by the Superstar, cutting across all layers of society! 'Super staarum sooriyanum dhaan ulagam suttri' is an impish line, truly! Seems to be based on Natabhairavi scale with the phrase' paa saa nee dha' employed attractively. Violins are very pleasingly used. A fitting tribute to the industry in Shankar Mahadevan's passionate voice. Strong rhythms seem to cut into the smooth flow of the lyric.

Kuselan Songs audio CD's and cassettes will officially hit the market on July 1st. The audio launch function of superstar starrer Kuselan is said to be one day before on June 30th. The first lot of one lakh CDs and 25 thousands Cassettes reached Chennai city from Mumbai yesterday. The distribution of CDs to all the retailers will start tomorrow. Reliance Entertainment group's Big Music got the audio rights for a record amount of Rs.2.25 crores. The super stylish photos of Rajinikanth in Kuselan which is released to the media is making huge waves on the internet. Now the latest update is that the Audio will hit the market on July 1st. All the songs are said to be rocking to go with the super image of superstar Rajinikanth. Nayantara also looks like a million bucks in all the photo stills released. Jointly produced by Kavithalaya and Seven Arts in Tamil, the complete shooting of the movie has been completed by Vasu within 82 days. Big Music, an Anil Dhirubhai Ambani group( ADAG) company obtained the Kuselan audio for a record price of Rs 2.25 crore. Rajini's Kuselan has five songs — Daler Mehendi, Shankar Mahadevan, Kailash Kher, Shreya Ghoshal and Hariharan have rendered their voice for Kuselan.

Nayantara in Kuselan

Nayantara is on a song, as she is there in all the scenes featuring Rajinikanth in P.Vasu directed Kuselan. Now as a bonus comes in a solo song being picturised on Nayan for the film at Ramoji Rao studio by director Vasu. The buzz is that this song is a nice feel-good number shot on Nayan and lot of kids. Remember that in the original Malayalam film on which Kuselan is based, the character of Nayanthara comes in just one duet with the superstar. In the Tamil version, Nayan's character has been created by Vasu to add glamour and glitz to the film. Vasu is a smart guy who knows how to package a Rajinikanth film for the masses. Rajinikanth said at the 'pooja' of the film, that he may occupy only 25 percent of the running time. But now it looks like he will be there for nearly 50 percent of the time!

Actor J D Chakravarthy - Robot villain

J D Chakravarthy, Ram Gopal Varma's Sathya hero is on a roll in Kollywood. Coming out of hibernation, JD, as he is better known, has signed on the dotted line to do Vishnuvardhan's Sarwam as the villain. Shankar saw JD's rushes in the film and immediately signed him up to do Robot, again as the villain opposite Rajinikanth. JD is thrilled to play villain in the film, because he will be getting international exposure simply by sharing screen space with the superstar. It's also a well known fact that the villains in Rajinikanth's films always get decent footage, so that the superstar is able to triumph in the end and establish his "heroism". Both Sarvam and Robot are being produced by Ayagaran films. Sources say that Rajini liked JD's earlier work and Shankar was also happy to get bulk dates from the villain!

Kamal, Ajith, Vijay, Vikram in Rajini’s Kuselan

Om Shanthi Om, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer, which was last year's biggest Bollywood block-buster, featured a song in which 31 major Hindi film stars came together to shake a leg with SRK. And now taking a lead from the film, Kollywood director P.Vasu, who is known to have tremendous goodwill in this industry, plans to rope in major stars for his forthcoming film kuseylan, which stars Rajinikanth. In OSO, the song is based on the situation where SRK's character (an actor) wins an award and throws a party, which is attended by all major stars. As Vasu's film is also about an who rises to 'super' stardom, he plans to approach stars like Kamal Haasan, Vijay, Ajith, Vikram, and Trisha for a special song in the Tamil version of the film. Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Balakrishna and others are being approached for the Telugu version of this song. K.Balachandar (kuseylan's Producer) is regarded as a mentor for both Rajinikanth as well as Kamal Haasan. Sources said that as P.Vasu is close to both, Kamal would approve his role without hesitation. When contacted by media, Vasu agree that there was a plan to come up with a special song, but said it was in its primitive stages. "Once things are confirmed, we would make an announcement," he said.

Dhanush: Going his FIL’s way

It seems that Dhanush is totally been inspired by his father-in-law Rajinikanth. After naming his movies 'Polladhavan' and 'Padikadhavan' and acting in the remix of Ennama Kannu Sowkyama in 'Thiruvilayadal Arambam', the actor now says that he would like to remake 'Netrikkan'. "'Netrikkan' is one of my all time favorites of Rajinikanth. His performance was simple and stunning, especially in the role of an old businessman, who lusts on young women. I would like to act in its remake." "Rajini is a man of perfection. My admiration for him grew manifold after watching him in close quarters", he says.
